Guy Ritchie's re-make of this 1970s Lina Wertmuller hit has already been declared "D.O.A." by critics, and it's barely even been shown yet. It features Madonna (Ritchie's wife, for those of you who've been encased in sensory deprivation tanks up until now) and Adriano Giannini, who's the son of the actor who played in Wertmuller's original. In the movie, the two castaway protagonists literally bash one another around on a deserted isle until She falls in love with He.
I know the flick gets released right after the
Venus goes Retrograde
in Scorpio, but REALLY - is Madonna trying to mark this time period by re-visiting her life with Sean Penn or something? If this is a preview of some of the nasty things this retrograde period is going to be about, I'm hiding until after November 21st.
Seriously, the astro-interest here for me is that the source for a birth date we could scare up for Guy Ritchie reveals why he's been able to tame Leo Lady Madonna, at least so far. It turns out that his Mars (aggression and force) is very close to her Sun (self-assertion, will and power). Such planetary contact between the two could show that he wants to dominate her, and she gets turned on by being "contained" by her man. It looks like he might have enjoyed watching her play those fight scenes more than he lets on, so we can only hope he doesn't start to re-enact them at home!
Madonna's scheduled to have an eclipse shaking up her emotional life in early December. This latest foray into the world of cinema may devastate her more than she's ready to reveal to her fans. Hopefully her "Guy" will be kind and compassionate enough to help her pick up the pieces.
And oh- another "Venus in Retrograde in Scorpio Goes to the Movies" sidebar: On October 18th - one week after Venus goes Retrograde in Scorpio - the movie Auto Focus will be released. It portrays late actor Bob Crane of Hogan's Heroes fame, whose mysterious murder seems to have been the result of his addiction to kinky sex.
