Blockbuster or Bust: The New Movies for Fall
By Judi Vitale

Movies and stars go together, more than you might imagine! Keep reading and you'll find out how astrology can make or break a picture. Everybody on the set and behind the scenes of a film has planetary "issues", and even the date a film is released plays into its prospects for popularity.

Let's look at some of the big pictures and little films about to be released this fall, and see what the stars have to say - will people flip for these flicks? Or, will the films flop, leaving the producers' pockets and the divas' egos empty and deflated?

Big Flicks:
Gangs of New York
This huge movie is the brainchild of Scorpio Director Martin Scorsese. He came up with the idea in 1977, but with the demise of the Director-Driven Epic Film (that resulted from the swollen budgets of films like Apocalypse Now and Heaven's Gate), it got nowhere - until now. Read more...
Catch Me if You Can
Another Christmas Day release, this picture ALSO stars DiCaprio (Is this his year or what?). He's having that career-ripening Saturn transit, so his central role in this good-time movie about a 1960s con artist won't hurt the film's chances for success. October Releases:
Venus Retrograde in Scorpio Goes to the Movies
Frida
This film is a cinematic biography of Frida Kahlo, who was a mid-20th Century Mexican artist. Crippled physically by a bus accident and emotionally impaired by her marriage to a womanizer (plus her own drug and alcohol addiction), Kahlo's deeply emotional paintings are moving renditions of her inner turmoil. Swept Away
Guy Ritchie's re-make of this 1970s Lina Wertmuller hit has already been declared "D.O.A." by critics, and it's barely even been shown yet. It features Madonna (Ritchie's wife, for those of you who've been encased in sensory deprivation tanks up until now) and Andriano Giannini, who's the son of the actor who played in Wertmuller's original. In the movie, the two castaway protagonists literally bash one another around on a deserted isle until She falls in love with He. Read more...
